Electrical Engineer Intern
Embedded computing project: In this project you will assess two embedded computing solutions (Beagleboard X15 vs nVidia Jetson) for implementation in nView medical’s 3D imaging scanner. The Single Board Computer (SBC) will have to meet real time constraints such as motor controls, fast 2D image processing, system safety features and network communication. The work will include assessing performance and porting code from a traditional computer system to the chosen SBC. In this project you will work in a team of two. Additional mini project: integrating positional sensors in the embedded system. Performing interns will be considered for hiring upon successful completion of the project.
Skills: C/C++ (modern), robotics/automation, image processing, arduino, embedded designs, IoT.
Mechanical Engineer Intern
Mechanical design project - In this project you will design the next generation prototype of an intraoperative 3D imaging system. You will use CAD tools to design the parts of the system including its structure, covers, and integration with third party components. You will work with different stakeholders (surgeons, suppliers, engineers, and industry specialists) to design, source, and assemble all parts of a working prototype. In this project you will work in a team of two. Performing interns will be considered for hiring upon successful completion of the project.
Skills: CAD (preferably AutoDesk Inventor), Static/dynamic mechanics, Finite element analysis, 3D printing
Software Engineer Intern
Viewer project: In this project you will be part of a team of two or three team members to refactor and upgrade our existing medical imaging viewer capable to visualize 3D volumes. The changes will include:
provide the ability to display registered overlays of meshes and geometric 2D/3D templates,
provide basic measurement functionality,
provide a network enabled UI.
Performing interns will be considered for hiring upon successful completion of the project.
