Senior Software Developer Team Lead

We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated team lead to drive innovative technology from research to commercialization. This is proven new technology, and this position will be responsible for pushing the boundaries of this technology into a commercial product and into new clinical applications. There are both hardware and software components of the technology, so familiarity with both is important. This position reports directly to the CEO in a small organization with the potential to move into a director or CTO role. A successful candidate will be able to motivate and drive teams to perform at top levels. This is a unique and rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor within a fast growing company and help shape the technology, product and the business.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Drives continuous improvement to image reconstruction algorithms

  2. Owns the system and software architecture for a complex medical device

  3. Ensures that the software is consistent with the architecture via code reviews.

  4. Owns the software development process and guidelines.

  5. From time to time, takes ownership on key developments, including coding and testing.

  6. Ensures that the software is developed per the software development process by sitting down with developers and specifying features before they are developed.

Secondary duties:

  1. Owns the system design, functional analysis, and performance analysis for hardware x-ray subsystems.

  2. Improves and maintains system/hardware engineering standards

  3. Project/ Program management including day to day task planning

  4. Trains and leads staff to create highly functioning teams

Software Engineer Intern

Viewer project: In this project you will be part of a team of two or three team members to refactor and upgrade our existing medical imaging viewer capable to visualize 3D volumes. The changes will include:

  • provide the ability to display registered overlays of meshes and geometric 2D/3D templates,

  • provide basic measurement functionality,

  • provide a network enabled UI.

Performing interns will be considered for hiring upon successful completion of the project.
Skills: C++ (modern), Linear Algebra, CUDA, Computer Graphics (e.g. openGL), HTML5, Qt/QML
